Independent methodology. This is not an official GitHub leaderboard. Rankings are generated by Skunkworks Academy from public GitHub API data. Location values are user-supplied and normalized heuristically; repository impact currently samples up to 100 public repositories per developer. Calendar-year filtering applies to contribution activity; stars, followers and the Developer Index are current snapshot/rolling-index values rather than reconstructed historical values. “Active Contributors” means developers with at least one GitHub contribution in the selected rolling or calendar-year period.
